Designed for experienced drivers, by invitation from CLUB100. The Lightweight and Heavyweight championships are run over 11 rounds, with 22 championship points scoring Finals (best 16 of 22 to count). Minimum weight limits are enforced.
The Races consist of a single grid of Clubmans Lightweight Class and a single grid of Clubmans Heavyweight Class at each round. The maximum entry per round/per class is 24 drivers. Drivers register (sign on) at the start of each event, and then attend a drivers briefing before taking part in the event. Upon registration each driver will be issued a computer transponder, which is to be fixed to his or her allocated kart before each race.
The Clubmans Championships’ minimum weight limits are 75Kg for Lightweight and 85Kg for Heavyweight, and any drivers weighing in below 75Kg (for LW) and 80Kg (the HW entry weight level) will have to ensure that they make this legal weight limit. It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure they check their weight at each race using the CLUB100 scales. The recommended way of achieving the limit is weight fitted to a seat insert or attached to the two weight posts situated by the seat on the Karts. To determine a driver’s weight limit, each driver should include their full kit i.e. Crash Helmets, Overalls, Boots and seat Inserts (we do not include the number plate and transponder). Random checks will be made throughout the day during the season. Any driver found to be lighter than the required weight will be excluded from that race.
Practice is 5 laps and is generally used by drivers to familiarise with the circuit and give the kart a shake down. At the end of practice the chequered flag is dropped signifying the end of practice and the start of rolling formation laps to form up the two-by-two grid for Heat 1.
Following immediately after Practice, Clubmans drivers will have two 7 minute race heats in which to gather qualifying points that determine the grid for Final 1. For Race Heat 1, the starting grid will be determined is by CLUB100 racing. For Race Heat 2, the starting grid is determined by the reverse of the heat 1 grid.
Following the race heats, all drivers will compete in two finals, each of 10 minutes. Grid positions for the first final are calculated by the addition of each competitor’s points accrued in the heats i.e. the highest point scorer will gain pole position for the Final 1. Grid positions for Final 2 will be determined by the fastest laps during the event. The driver with the fastest lap from the heats and Final 1 will start on pole position, down to the driver with the slowest lap time starting last.
In the finals, drivers are given 3 practice/kart check laps to test their karts prior to the race, and may change their karts at any time during these three laps.
The results along with championship tables from each race meeting are posted on the comprehensive CLUB100 website a few days after the event. Lap times, lap charts and virtual timing screens are also available as well. The race reports which include all finals in all events are usually posted about one week after each event.
Our Sprint racing is run on a very tight schedule, failure to arrive on time can result in you missing the event on the basis that you have not attended the briefing.
