The championships, split into weight categories, are open to rookie, intermediate and experienced drivers. Super Heavyweight drivers race in with the Heavyweight drivers, scoring points for their own SHW championship, as well as the main HW championship.
The Races are designed to promote racing between drivers of similar abilities through a modern format of - Practice, Qualifying, Pre-Final and Final. Minimum weight limits are enforced. The Lightweight and Heavyweight/Super Heavyweight championships are each run over 11 rounds, with the best 8 of 11 to count in the Championships.
The events consist of a maximum 50 entries in class per round with drivers split into two equal groups in timed qualifying and two Pre-Finals (A&B) and two Finals (A&B) being run.
Drivers register (sign on) at the start of each event, and then attend a drivers briefing before taking part in the event. Upon registration each driver will be issued a computer transponder, which is to be fixed to his or her allocated kart before each race.
The Championship minimum weight limits are:
75Kg for Lightweight
85Kg for Heavyweight - entry level for Heavyweight drivers will be 80Kg.
95Kg for Super Heavyweight
Any drivers weighing in below 75Kg, 80Kg (HW) and 95Kg (SHW) will have to ensure that they can make the championship weight limit for their class/weight category.
It is the driver’s responsibility to check their weight at each race using the CLUB100 scales. The recommended way of achieving the limit is weight fitted to a seat insert or attached to the two weight posts situated by the seat on the Karts. To determine a driver’s weight limit, each driver should include their full kit i.e. Crash Helmets, Overalls, Boots and seat Inserts (we do not include the number plate and transponder). Random checks will be made throughout the day during the season. Any driver found to be lighter than the required weight will be excluded from that race.
Another unique aspect of CLUB100 is the unique Buddy System. Drivers competing in their first ever Sprint will have access to a 'buddy' driver who will be on hand to assist throughout the day. The CLUB100 'buddy' drivers are more experienced drivers who know the rules in depth and are happy to help new drivers on their first race day. The other advantage of the buddy system is that drivers get to know each other, helping to perpetuate the overall club sprit that is one of the important aspects of CLUB100 both on and off the track. 'Buddy' drivers are allocated either after track walks or at the driver's briefings. The buddy system applies to both the LW and HW class.
Practice is 5 laps and is generally used by drivers to familiarise with the circuit and give the kart a shake down. At the end of practice the green flag is dropped signifying the end of practice and the start of a 6 minute timed session to set a single best lap time per driver. The driver with the fastest lap from the timed qualifying will start on pole position in the Pre-A Final, down to the driver with the slowest lap time starting last in the Pre-C Final.
After the grids are set in timed qualifying, all drivers will take part in a 12 minute Pre-Final race, with the finishing order setting the grid for the points scoring, championship race final. In the Pre-A Final, drivers are given 3 practice/kart check laps to test their karts prior to the race, and may change their karts at any time during these three laps.
The top 4 in the Pre-C Final Repo-Charge to the back of the Pre-B Final, joining those already qualified for the Pre-B Final. Similarly, the top 4 in the Pre-B Final Repo-Charge to the back of the Pre-A Final, joining those already qualified for the Pre-A Final.
Following the Pre-Finals, all drivers will compete in a 12 minute Final, challenging for championship points based on their finishing order in their Final. The top 2 in the C Final Repo-Charge to the back of the B Final, joining those already qualified for the B Final. Similarly, the top 2 in the B Final Repo-Charge to the back of the A Final, joining those already qualified for the A Final.
The driver winning the Pre-A Final will start on pole position in the A Final, down to the driver with the lowest placing in the Pre-C Final starting last in the C Final.
In the A Final, drivers are given 3 practice/kart check laps to test their karts prior to the race, and may change their karts at any time during these three laps.
The results along with championship tables from each race meeting are posted on the comprehensive CLUB100 website a few days after the event. Lap times, lap charts and virtual timing screens are also available as well. The race reports which include all finals in all events are usually posted about one week after each event.
Our Sprint racing is run on a very tight schedule, failure to arrive on time can result in you missing the event on the basis that you have not attended the briefing.
