Our stellar championship will be completely re-vamped for next season.
This year is our final year of running the Elite and Clubman invitational classes.
For 2019 we will be reverting back to our two classes of Lightweight, Heavyweight (with the Super Heavyweights running within the HW) offering the 3 heats and a final format.
However, we will be running two classes (Class 1 & Class 2) within each category. Current Elite and Clubman drivers, together with promoted drivers from the LW and HW classes this season will be placed into Class 1. All remaining drivers will be placed into Class 2.
So effectively, there will be two separate championships per weight class. Plus the SHW Class run within the HW.
As an example, when we get to the 26 driver A Final, the grid will be a mix of Class 1 and Class 2 drivers. The top 3 across the line in each class will reach the podium. Trophies will also be presented to our top 3 finishing SHW drivers, as well as our B and C Finals winners.
On 6 of the 11 rounds we will be running a Super-Final at the end of the day.
A new and exciting addition to the sprint series, which will see our top lightweights and heavyweights competing against each other for the Super-Final crown.
This will be a championship of its own.
The top 12 from each of the A Finals will race again in a 10 minute Super-Final, seeing the lightweights ballast up to the minimum required HW weight limit. The grid positions will be determined by each of the 24 driver’s fastest laps of the day. For example, the fastest LW will be on pole, with the fastest HW 2nd and so on. The fastest HW will be placed on pole for the next round, so each class alternates throughout the 6 races.
All 6 races will count towards the championship.
On 6 of the rounds (the ones with the Super-Final), both LW, HW and SHW will arrive together and alternate throughout the day.
These days will start with two optional 30 minute practice/test sessions (Price: £88.00 Inc VAT per Kart, per session). Here is a guideline of how the day would run –
