All Torque is about the hot weather at Buckmore
All Torque win. JEN Racing are the bridesmaids but the sun was out so everyone was happy.
The Club100 championship reached it’s half way mark at Buckmore park. Race 6 of 12 was held in scorching heat which has an impact on both the karts and the drivers.
All Torque 1 took first blood with a convincing win from grid fifteen. An equally impressive race from the very back of the grid saw JEN racing come home second. Despite going slightly backwards, Loose Heads managed to come home third ahead of 2T and Mobile Chicane. Forza didn’t have the best start to the day; an incident early on dropping them to the back.
It was obvious from the first heat that some karts had better top end than others, meaning today would be something of a lottery.
A stunning drive by Team JAWS saw them climb from grid nineteen to take the class win for race 2 and finish sixth overall. All Torque 1 came home second as they struggled to match the pace of the race winner. Loose Heads once again came home third in what was already turning out to be a good day for the veteran team. Mobile Chicane came home forth but were docked one position for molesting a cone so were classified fifth behind Skidmark racing.
The third race of the day was dominated by CC Racing. Starting on the pole, they only lost out to a couple of class 2 teams but hung on to them and ultimately fought back past in the closing stages. Forza were also in the mix. They started on the front row and kept pace with the leading pack, eventually coming home second in class and third overall. These two teams finished some way ahead of third placed 2T Racing who did a great job to fend of a train of karts headed by Big cat Motorsport II and Mobile Chicane.
JEN Racing found themselves on pole position for the final race of the day so it was no surprise to see them stay at the sharp end. They enjoyed a race long battle with class 1 team Big Cat Motorsport, eventually yielding to them but taking an easy class win. All Torque 1 finished 10 seconds behind them and team JAWS were third followed by Forza in what had been another competitive day for them. It was good to see Mobile Chicane once again in the top five. Not having such a good race were Skidmark racing, All Torque 2 and Loose Heads who sadly propped up the tail of the field after issues.
With two second places and a win, All Torque 1 took the overall victory. JEN Racing were a close second with a win, a second and a third to count. A consistent set of races for Loose Heads saw them claim the final spot on the podium ahead of Team JAWS and Forza who tied on points. JAWS got fourth on countback.
